Admission:
Service User’s interested in coming to Safe Harbour Care Centre are encouraged to visit the home and sample the atmosphere and level of service. This gives the client time to get to know the staff and adjust to new people and surroundings. Before admission one of our senior staff will assess the service user to ensure that the home has the facilities to cater for all of their needs.
A month’s trial period is always given before taking permanent residency.
Social Rooms:
There are two main lounges, (also a small quiet lounge downstairs and a reminiscent lounge upstairs); and two dining rooms, all centrally heated. Service Users are encouraged to use these public rooms; however, Service Users who choose to stay in their own rooms may do so.
Smoking is NOT allowed in any public areas.
Downstairs: Contains 12 x Single En-suite, 6 x Single non en-suite and 1 x Double en-suite bedrooms.
Upstairs: Contains 14 x Single en-suite, 7 x Single non en-suite and 2 x Double en-suite bedrooms.
All our rooms comply with National Care Standards Act 2000 and are over ten square metres but under twelve square metres. However, eight of our en-suite rooms are over 12 square metres and all of our double rooms also exceed twelve square metres.
The home has a mixture of accommodation, 45 places in total with double and single rooms, the majority of the rooms having en-suite facility. The rooms are arranged on two floors with a lift servicing both floors. All the bedrooms are individually decorated, and although the home provides fully furnished rooms, clients are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own items of furniture, pictures and photographs etc...This is considered particularly important as it creates a more personal feel and homely touch.
